The Alfa Romeo 155 V6 TI is a racing car built to race in the DTM (Deutsche Tourenwagen Meisterschaft) series in 1993. At that time the German Touring Car Championship was the peak of technology for touring car racing, and it reserved for cars of Class 1 (first division or D1).
In 1995, alongside DTM, the so called ITC – International Touring Car Championship – was also raced. The two series shared the same set of rules.
For the 1995 racing season, Alfa Romeo’s 155 was turned into a more radical car, but to the expense of its reliability.
In 1996, a second more reliable evolution allowed the official driver Nannini to finish third in the Drivers Championship and second in the Manufacturers Championship.

In 1995, alongside DTM, the so called ITC – International Touring Car Championship – was also raced. The two series shared the same set of rules. For the 1995 racing season, Alfa Romeo’s 155 was turned into a more radical car, but to the expense of its reliability. Despite their best effort, Alfa Romeo’s works 155 only took one ITC victory and a few podiums. Private teams scored overall three wins in the DTM championship, respectively thanks to Euroteam (2) and Schuebel Engineering (1). This car reproduces the Alfa Corse 2 satellite team’s number 27 as it raced on the city of Helsinki, driven by former rally driver Markku Alén, only this apparition in the 1995 championship.

Alfa Romeo introduced an upgraded 155 for the 1994 DTM Championship, in order to fight for the driver’s title again. The title was entirely within reach but slipped due to a notorious accident that involved Nannini and a lapped driver. During the season, a few private Teams received semi-official cars. Among those, Team Schübel Engineering, sponsored by the German TV Channel RTL. Car was driven by Kris Nissen.

The Alfa Romeo 155 V6 TI is a racing car built to race in the DTM (Deutsche Tourenwagen Meisterschaft) series in 1993. At that time the German Touring Car Championship was the peak of technology for touring car racing, and it reserved for cars of Class 1 (first division or D1). The rules mandated cars with an engine displacement of 2.5 liters and 6 cylinders at most, derived from approved models and produced in no less than 25,000 units. The rules allowed deep changes to the car, provided that the external lines were maintained. When Alfa Romeo introduced its 420 bhp, four-wheel drive 155, the more conventional rear-wheel drive Mercedes 190 couldn’t matche Alfa’s performance. In 1993, the Italian car dominated the category, winning 12 races out of 20 with its the two factory drivers, thus winning both drivers and constructors titles. To date, the Alfa Romeo 155 is the only non-German car to have won a DTM championship. This model celebrates the 1993 DTM Championship victory of Alfa Romeo and its factory driver Nicola Larini. To date, the Alfa Romeo 155 is the only non-German car to win a DTM championship.
